Album Covers

Music is a subject close to most of our hearts, that’s quite apparent when reading some of the topics on the forum.

Okay, so kindly cast your minds back to flipping through all those seemingly endless 12 inch vinyl records in the shops, back in the day of course

What about the covers, what about the artwork, what did they do for you and why?

This one certainly resonated and still does…

There was something of the gothic about this, the creepy house, the lighting , the mannequin in front of the old clock in the background. 1977 was pretty much punk year wasn’t it? As a fan of old gothic stories and Hammer films this one couldn’t have possibly missed! :slightly_smiling_face::+1:

Yes, album covers are very sadly missed today, replaced by digital art, just not the same without having an actual physical cover to handle and keep in our collections. I won’t get rid of my Abba and Grease album covers ,that’s for sure, even though the records are practically unreadable.

Very much something of the time, catches a mood.
I’m guessing that there are those that would give London Calling the thumbs up for their favourite Clash album cover but this one is so much more evocative…in my opinion of course :slightly_smiling_face:

Never really had a large album collection, but for me, one of the best was one the simplest. The Dark Side Of The Moon cover.
