November 22, 1985 (37 years ago today) “How Will I Know” was released as the third single from Whitney’s eponymous debut album.
Produced by Narada Michael Walden and written by George Merrill and Shannon Rubicam, it became her second Number One single.
The music video was filmed in London and won Best Female Video at the MTV Video Music Awards. Cissy Houston sang background vocals on the song and Randy Jackson (of American Idol) played bass.
