These songs reminds me of my dad. He always had a few bob to spare for cassettes so I could spend Saturday mornings recording the Top 40 countdown. Trying to press the ‘pause’ button before the DJ spoke. Then stop - rewind - in between adverts

Same here
We had the Top 40 charts on a Sunday evening.
And the presenter ALWAYS had to speak just before the song ended .
